I quite like ripping off Burn Notice...

You're an operative, tasked with retrieving an asset from an enemy corporation. You have the package in your hands, you call in your handler and..."Sorry, change of plan. We don't want it." *click*

At that moment, the corporation you're stealing from decides to send a wave of security squads in...and now you're just a thief, with no support, no allies, no contacts...just you, the now worthless asset and a few underpaid security guards closing in...

As a broker you just signed off on an operative's death. Sure you might have backstabbed him a little, or rather a whole lot, but you've got more global concerns in mind. The moment passes without incident, you move on. The sun goes down, comes up again, and you find yourself in your office, sitting comfortably in your imported leather chair. The newsfeed scrolls by before your eyes in the air before you, but nothing much catches your attention. You close the feed with a swipe of your hand, turning yourself in the chair to face the window before you, content to savor what little downtime you have as you take in the view. The moment of relaxation doesn't last long, though. A soft chirp draws your attention back to the glass tabletop that serves as your desk, a single light flickering the angry red of a new message notification. Your lips purse, digits fanning along the glass top as you lean forward from your chair, bringing the message into focus...

"Services rendered. Payment required. I'm not dead yet you backstabbing son of a bitch, but you soon will be."

Daaaamn. Talk about being a marked man. It'd be great if the only location you had was your apartment, and it was mostly about preparing for his assault on your life.

Part of me imagines it as The Raid or the new Dredd movie, except from the end of the person at the top. What do you do when you've got someone gunning for you, working their way up the tower floor by floor, wiping out your assets?

Playing off of the previous idea of mine, what happens if you're the operative that's seeking revenge? You got hung out to dry by your broker. How did you manage to avoid what would have likely been an untimely end?

Did you, against all odds, run and gun your way out? Did you cut a deal with the rival corporation in exchange for your life? Was your broker wrong to assume that your end was assured given the situation he left you in? Were you playing him the whole time in order to expose a deeper flaw in his master plan?

How will you get your revenge?

To be honest I'd geek more about being under attack! Being the aggressor is sort of expected in games today, and channeling anger is something people do in games a lot...but channeling fear into ingenuity is such a deliciously tense process. Games like Amnesia and that Slenderman...Fatal Frame 2, Vampire Masq. Bloodlines mansion level...they're all great experiences and mental exercises.
