You guys list the game as 2-4 players, the review says it's best with just two. When you guys were play testing it, what did you find the optimal number to be?

Honestly, two! Node was originally part of a series of games we were planning on releasing called Duos, or games specifically for two people on a rainy day. However, there are just enough different colors (5) in Node to accommodate a game of more than two players, though by the end it gets a little boring when three players all have one color and there's single captures every turn. So we decided to open up the possibility, while still suggesting it be played one on one.

Now that doesn't mean an exciting or playable game of Node with 3-4 people never happened! But the game's pace is perfect for two people to split the odd number of points, and it guarantees a winner and loser with a little more Oomph than a winner and ties for 2nd or 3rd.

And the cherry on top? You only play with half the cards in Node anyways right? So! If you have four people around, there can be two concurrent games of Node going at once (since there are five different sets of player icons in each box!). Or even devise some fancy tag team set up "double game"! Or, and this is my favorite. Take empty beer/soda cans and use them as physical obstacles in the play area, forcing you to build around them for added difficulty!
